Colorado Outfitters Association is pleased to announce Chris Journey as this year’s winner of the “Outfitter of the Year” award.  Each year COA honors one of our members with this award based on their outstanding service to the outfitting profession and COA.

For some 30 years since graduating high school in Craig, Colorado, Chris has been involved with wildlife and wildlife management. His abiding love and respect for our natural resources has resulted in countless hours of research on controversial issues. This has created a deep insight into the problems and solutions that wildlife and the outfitting way of life is confronted with in today’s world.

No outfitter has an abundance of free time, especially a sole proprietor such as Chris.   Even so, for several years Chris has given freely of his time and energy to help preserve the outfitting profession and to promote responsible wildlife management.

We are proud to walk with Chris in the footsteps of our forefathers and Theodore Roosevelt as proactive sportsmen and conservationists.
